The music albums I post here are free! I use Megaupload, a free online storage service. Installing their toolbar is not required! Here's what you need to do to download an album:

Click the DOWNLOAD link at the bottom of the post. This will launch the Megaupload page in a separate tab. There's a four letter code there that you have to type in to continue. This will take you to another page with a 45 second countdown. Once complete, the timer will turn into a big black button that says "Regular download". Click that button to download the album.

The albums I post here are stored as compressed RAR archives. WinZip and StuffIt can't open these RAR archives because they are password protected. For Windows, install 7-Zip; on Mac, install UnRarX. Both are freeware, spyware-free and are designed to extract files from password protected RAR archives. Once installed, open the RAR archive and you will be prompted for the password. Type in:

p-l-m.blogspot.com

Be sure to type the password exactly, with no extra spaces. If the password is wrong, the files may still extract, but they'll be corrupt and won't play! If you have any problems, feel free to email me and I'll do my best to help!

Just Can't Get Enough: New Wave Xmas (1977-1996)

In 1994 through 1995, Rhino Records compiled and released fifteen volumes in their exhaustive series Just Can't Get Enough: New Wave Hits of the 80s. In 1996, they released an additional Christmas themed volume. A final Halloween themed volume capped off the series in 1998.

Just Can't Get Enough: New Wave Xmas is a fun compilation of mostly irreverent Christmas tunes. It's not all strictly "New Wave," but, honestly, why pick nits? After all, it is music from a bygone era and does contain the greatest Christmas song of all time, The Pogues' "Fairytale of New York."

Check out the music videos for Squeeze's "Christmas Day," The Pogues' "Fairytale Of New York," The Pretenders' "2000 Miles" and David Bowie & Bing Crosby's "Peace on Earth/Little Drummer Boy":

Has anyone heard of a record called, I believe, The Burbank Symphony. It is not a classical record, and it has a Civil war type photo on the cover. It has a lot of Contrabass sax work on it. Do you know if it is posted anywhere?

Sorry, haven't heard of that one...

''Thanks for X-mas'' from XTC (Three Wise Men) (X-mas 1983) is one of the most UNDERRATED x-mas songs EVER.

I own the original CD-single (Japan 1989) and cherish it deeply.

The Pogues belongs to the Playlist from Hell.
Finest Christmas song of the New Wave/Indie times was JESUS CHRIST by the FAMILY CAT.
Its a cover of a song written by Alex Chilton and is actually a rewrite of Angles from the Realms of Glory.
The Family Cat are now defunct which is why I seized their name
